IPAC’23 / PARTICLE ACCELERATOR PROJECTS AND UPGRADES 30 Project Region EMEA Project Location Spain Project Type New Project Project Description ALBA II is the Upgrade of ALBA from a 3rd to a 4th Generation Light Source. It will consist on three main actions: 1) Replace the existing storage ring by a complete new one (magnets, vacuum chambers, girders, RF amplifiers, power supplies, electronics...); 2) Renovate the existing beamlines with new detectors, optics and equipment; 3) Construction of new beamlines, including long beamlines in a new adjacent plot.
