Venice in the past Centuries was a great, independent Country.
Come to visit the heart of the City: starting with an historical introduction in the Saint Mark’s Square, we will see from the outside the Doge’s Palace, that was the seat of the Venetian government until 1797, and the Basilica of St Mark, one of the most important Byzantine architecture in the world, impressive with its gilded mosaics and wonderful marbles.
We will then walk to the Rialto food market, to see one of the most lively places in Venice, where you will appreciate how many different kind of fishes the lagoon offers today.
You will have the possibility to taste some cicchetti (the typical venetian finger food) and wine for a short break. Then, crossing again one of the most famous bridge in the World, we will go back to Saint Mark’s Square.

We will explore the Lagoon, visiting some of the most important “outer islands”: Murano with its glass factories; Burano with its colourful little houses, the fishing boats and the laces, hand made by the women exactly how they did them Centuries ago; Torcello, a quiet and amazing place, where you will see some of the oldest churches of the lagoon, full of gilded mosaics and framed by nature, water and peace.
It will be a good occasion to understand the history of Venice, its relations with the water, the delicate equilibrium which still allow us to preserve one of the most beautiful city in the world.
